I’ve been a fan of both Laneige and Summer Fridays for a while now, and their lip balms are definitely their star products.

Laneige Lip Balm
Laneige Lip Glowy Balm is a cult-favorite K-beauty product. It’s got this lovely gel-like consistency that’s lightweight and moisture-rich.
And the scent? Addicting! It’s subtle, never overpowering, and definitely not cloying. The lip balm stays put without bleeding or feeling greasy.
The one downside? The tint isn’t as intense as I’d like, especially on days I don’t feel like wearing lipstick. Still, I love it for that natural, no-makeup look.

Summer Fridays Lip Balm
Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm is a silky alternative in a clean, vegan formula. Like Laneige’s LGB, it’s enriched with two kinds of butter, shea and murumuru seed.
Paired with vegan waxes, I get an intense burst of moisture with every swipe.
A minor downside for me is that the tube is a little tricky to squeeze out every last bit. I feel like I’m wasting some of the product, especially since it’s not exactly cheap.

Laneige vs Summer Fridays: Differences
As a faithful user of both Laneige and Summer Fridays lip balms, here’s how they measure up to each other:
1. Texture and Finish
Laneige has a lighter, more glossy finish that’s perfect for daily use. Summer Fridays, on the other hand, is richer without being tacky.
I can’t really complain about either product; they both provide a beautiful, healthy-looking sheen.
2. Hydration
I have to give Summer Fridays a slight edge, hydration-wise. My lips just feel so much softer and smoother after using it.
Laneige gives an instant plumping effect, but I find that I need to reapply it more frequently throughout the day. And that also means I’ll go through the tube a bit faster.
3. Scent and Flavor
Both balms have delightful, subtle scents. Laneige comes in four flavors: vanilla, berry, sweet candy, and gummy bear.
In terms of color and flavor, Summer Fridays has a bit more variety.
4. Clean Ingredients
Summer Fridays is the clear winner, as their formula is 100% vegan and Leaping Bunny-certified.
Laneige’s balm, while effective, doesn’t have the same eco-conscious labels.
5. Price
Laneige ($19) is a couple of dollars cheaper, but it’s a smaller tube. After doing the math, Summer Fridays Lip Balm ($24) works out to be the better value per ounce.
