And since you don’t know me to be a gatekeeper, I’m sharing all of my favorites with you today!

Who says we can’t wear big makeup just because we have sensitive eyes?

6 Best Eye Make-Up Products for Sensitive Eyes

1. Ilia Fullest Volumizing Mascara

Ilia’s products are brilliant for sensitive eyes. The brand boasts ophthalmologist and dermatologist-tested products, ensuring that you’re only getting the safest makeup for your eyes and skin!

Personally, I’d recommend the Fullest Volumizing Mascara. I’m a fan of the simple ‘no-makeup’ makeup look, and this mascara does just that without smudging or making my eyes water.

Even removing this mascara is a breeze! Wash your face with warm water and watch it instantly come off.

No rubbing and no product seeping into your eyes. Additionally, this mascara does an excellent job of enhancing your natural lashes.

Heads up: While this product is amazing, it’s not vegan-friendly since it contains beeswax. However, Ilia assures its consumers that they ethically source the ingredient without harming any bees.

2. Clinique High Impact Easy Liquid Eyeliner

Hear me out; I know Clinique can be pricey, but their products are so worth it! It took me ages to find an eyeliner that didn’t irritate my skin or make my eyes immediately water.

With Clinique’s High-Impact liquid eyeliner, you don’t have to worry about any of that!

What’s more, the liquid liner is super creamy, so you can apply it in one swipe. You won’t have to use much of the product and risk irritating your eyes to get the shape you want.

Plus, the rich noir color is perfect for those who love the dramatic touch of a pigmented black liner.

The best part for me, however, is the precise brush. You don’t have to be an eyeliner expert to be able to draw cat eyes, bat wings, and more with this brush.

3. Physicians Formula Murumuru Butter Eyeshadow Palettes

Physicians Formula was a must-include brand for my list today. Much like Ilia, their products are a constant in my makeup bag.

My favorite product of theirs is no other than their butter eyeshadow palettes from the Murumuru line.

Where do I begin with this one? For starters, this line contains two gorgeous palettes (Tropical Days and Sultry Night) that perfectly complement each other.

You’ll quickly fall in love with the shimmery metallic shades as well as the natural warm hues.

You’ll also notice how Physicians Formula added some tips on the back of the palette on mixing each section of shades.

While the palette’s buttery scent can overwhelm some, the product is still perfectly eye-safe. In my opinion, the strong pigmentation makes up for that.

4. Tarte Shape Tape Ultra Creamy Concealer

This particular makeup product has been circling beauty TikTok for quite some time now so you may have already come across it.

I’m here to tell you that Tarte’s Shape Tape Concealer is totally worth the hype!

Since we have sensitive eyes, we’re more susceptible to redness, irritation, and black circles.

With this miracle product, you can say goodbye to all those pesky issues and make your eye makeup pop more.

From personal experience, I can tell you that this product also doesn’t flake and binds well with your skin. It even hydrates and vitalizes it!

Additionally, you can trust that it’ll hold up while you run your errands or work at the office. It may crease while you’re smiling or talking, but that’s to be expected.

5. Almay Intense I-Color Eyeshadow Palette

A makeup bag can always use more than one palette, am I right? I bring to you another favorite of mine that’s travel-friendly and more compact than Physician Formula’s palette.

Check out the hypoallergenic Intense I-Color palette from Almay.

With only three simple colors, these eyeshadows have proved the perfect companion on rushed days when I don’t have the time to put on a full face of glam.

The line-up includes four different palettes as well, each complimenting a specific eye color (blue, hazel, green, or brown).

Thank me later for the beautiful shimmery finish this product has too! All palettes also feature an antioxidant-rich primer that acts as the optimal base for your eye makeup.

As a plus, it’ll protect your eyelids from environmental pollutants that could irritate your sensitive eyes.

6. iVIZIA Eyelid Cleansing Wipes

What’s a makeup bag without the ideal makeup wipe? While I always prefer to use a cleansing balm or an eye make-up remover for sensitive eyes, sometimes you just need the convenience of a makeup wipe.

Recommended by doctors, iVizia’s Cleansing Wipes for sensitive eyelids are a must-have!

I’ve always hated how most makeup wipes have a coarse texture that harms my sensitive eyelids.

Not only that, but some aren’t as effective either. I end up scrubbing my eyes with too many wipes before the makeup’s gone.

If that sounds like you too, you’re going to thank your stars for these wipes! In one swipe and with no rinsing required, your eye makeup will be gone.

8 Ingredients to Avoid With Sensitive Eyes

As a rule of thumb, makeup wearers with sensitive eyes should avoid human-made chemicals in their products at all costs.

Stick to all-natural ingredients that are clinically proven to be eye-safe and won’t cause further irritation.

So what exactly should not be on that ingredient list? Let’s take a look:

  1. Alcohol: dries out your eyes and can irritate the under-eye area.
  2. Formaldehyde: causes inflammation and might trigger an allergic reaction in some.
  3. Fragrances: agitate skin, flare up allergies, cause irritation.
  4. Parabens: seep into your skin causing hormonal changes and possible nerve damage.
  5. Retinoids: worsen the condition of irritated or dry eyes.
  6. Sulfates: strip the skin’s natural oils, exposing it to external pollutants and irritants.
  7. Phenoxyethanol: results in severe watering and stinging of the eyes, even at small percentages (>1%).
  8. BAK (benzalkonium chloride): causes corneal inflammation and dryness
